Care & Maintenance
Architectural Powder Coated Profiles & Components
To preserve the elite finish quality, vibrant color depth, and superior weather resistance of your AAMA 2605 certified Decora® profiles, implement this straightforward care routine every 6 to 12 months. For projects located in coastal environments, high-salinity zones, or industrial heavy-pollution areas, cleaning should be performed quarterly.
-
Initial Surface Rinse
Gentle pre-rinse the profiles using clean, lukewarm water. This completely eliminates loose dirt, grit, environmental dust, and heavy surface debris without scratching the face texture.
-
Mild Solution Cleaning
Prepare a wash solution utilizing warm water and a mild, pH-neutral household detergent (such as standard Dawn dish soap). Avoid complex industrial chemical formulas.
-
Gentle Application
Carefully wipe down all exposed finishes with a soft, non-abrasive microfiber cloth, premium clean sponge, or ultra-soft bristle brush. Ensure special attention is given to joint intersections and recessed angles where airborne particulates accumulate.
-
Final Clean Rinse
Thoroughly clear the entire profile surface area with a pristine fresh water stream to pull away any clinging soap residue, then leave the surfaces to air dry naturally.
Long-Term Architectural Performance
Because the Decora® finishing system is strictly engineered to elite architectural specifications, these high-performance profiles require zero intensive sanding, chemical stripping, staining, or field repainting during their service lifespan. Adhering to this simple, periodic clear-water wash routine is all that is required to confidently sustain a flawless, premium finish identity for decades.
Crucial Finish Prohibitions
- No Harsh Chemicals: Never introduce aggressive solvents, acetone, paint thinners, acid-based formulations, or heavy alkaline detergents, which permanently compromise the UV protection matrix.
- No Abrasive Tools: Absolutely avoid steel wool, heavy scouring pads, wire brushes, or sandpaper. These break the seamless texture profile and micro-scratch the protective coating.
- No High-Pressure Blasting: Do not employ concentrated high-pressure commercial power washers at close range. Excessive hydrostatic force stresses critical mechanical joints and finish edges.
